Have you said to yourself lately: "I need a Dino-rec
kord but I have no idea of wich?!" Then you have reached
the right place. After reading these reviews by brilliant,
new, upcoming, young and handsome writer Gorm Landstad
you will know for sure.Well, enough beating around the bush:
Here they are!:

Dinosaur

Released through Homestead Records as early as -85, this
self-titled debut(they later added the Jr)is obviously the
best first-album ever to be produced. On the other hand, compared
to the rest of their own stuff, it seems a little bit premature,
lacking in melody as well as production. The lyrics however are
absolutely top banana, little self-centered stories about the
ever re-ocurring ghost of insecurity and fear. They never stop
making me laugh. Try to listen to tunes like "Repulsion", and "Forget
the Swan", and you'll understand that already back then
they were the best band by far.

You're Living All Over Me

This one is by a lot of fans held as their greatest artistic success
ever, wich I don't exactly agree with. Of course it's on my top six
rekcord-list, but I'm sorry to say it's no. 6. It's increadibly hard
to say something that is not comepletely positive about Dino's reckords,
but I think the songs here are not as nice as on the other albums,
even if there are some real beautiful ones here, like "The Lung",
"Little Fury Things" and the cover of Peter Frampton's "Show Me The Way".

Bug

Here, I think is the most underestimated album in history, even though
everyone that have heard it think it's absolutely fabulous. Not one of the
songs are less than a masterpiece, draped with J Mascis' tender yet savage
tone of both voice and axe. His skills as a musician have significantly
improved, but even if he was worse than my brother on the guitar, this would
still have been a stunning rekcord, thanks again to the brilliant, yes even
inventive compositions. If I should die today, and were allowed to pick the
songs for my funeral, I would chose "No Bones" and "The Post". If people don't
become dumber, Dino will in a few years be a religion. At least thats my opinion.

fossils

Not much to say, a fantastic collection of some great singles and B-sides. But
we have heard it all on previous releases.

Green Mind

This is also one hell of an album, ranging from the emotional breakdown in "Puke &
Cry"(some title, huh)to the cool, almost funky "Muck". It is perhaps the most open of
their rekcords, with a cleaner production than the others. I find this a bad thing
more than a good thing, some of the personality fades a bit away, but if you now
say "They can afford it when you originally have amounts of these proportions.",
I will stand corrected. And the cover, oh yes, the cover, it must be the most beautiful
and sad cover of all times, best cover in history, if you ask me.

whatever's cool with me

As fossiles a collection of old and less old material, with some fantastic songs, like
the fantastic, fantastic David Bowie-hommage "Quicksand", and some OK

WHERE YOU BEEN

Where you Been is so majestic its hard for me to talk about it. I have to say that this reckord
has changed my life. Maybe I haven`t become a better man by listening, but I sure have found out
what kind of loser I am, I have relized all my inadequacies and it pisses me off that no-one ever told
me about them. I hope it have made me less obnoxious, but hey, you never know. Anyway here I am ranting
and raving about myself wich is definatly not the issue, at least not here. The problem is I have used
up all the good english words i know on the other reckords, they deserve it all, it`s not that, but I
don't have anything left for the masterpiece. I feel like if I had seen the most beautiful colors in the
world, and some friendly alien beams me up and shows me a million space-colors I could never imagined,
and they are all a million times more beautiful than our earthly ones. To me it seems impossible that
these tones, I mean the actual ceparat notes, for example D, have existed since the origin of time, maybe
even longer and up to 1994 no-one have managed to put them together the way they were supposed to be. What
were split up never to be gathered again. But then J came and fucked up their sick plan, so now the good
forces are on their feet again and ready to take over the world. It,s the dawning of a new age, I say, a
new age. Don't take me for a fanatic but this music should be sent into space so that if an unknown lifeform
got hold of one of our rockets, it would be scared to death if it was bad, and get a damn fine reckord if
they were nice people or whatever. I don't know if I am making myself clear but I like this album. I like
it a lot.

Whithout a Sound

Great album, but big big big big big dissapointment after its predecessor. Some songs are not so good for
the first time in Dino-history, And some are of course golden. The music sounds more like he has struggeled to
make it up, whereas before it's all just beautifully logical harmonies assembled so graceful that J would have
think it was a deer and bird dancing around on a big flower under the moonlight or something that had assembled
them. Then as usual some of the songs on here are unbeatable, for instance "Outta Hand", "Even You" and "Mind Glow"
and then what can you say? Huh?

Hand It Over

He's back! With a vengeance for all those who had signed him off, and with a handful of ear candy for us. And what
candy! Better than this they don't come these days, what else can I say. Every song is a classic....I'll admit I cried
in joy the first time I heard sure not over you.
